Choosing the Right SEO Tactics

Ever since the 1990’s, SEOs have been split into two groups; ‘Black hat SEO’ and ‘White hat SEO’. These definitions are somewhat similar to the ‘conservative’ vs. ‘liberal’ argument. However, this definition tends to change over time and normally these changes are made based on a load of assumptions and judgement.
There are a number of business owners who focus primarily on the type of SEO while selecting strategies for their SEOs despite the fact that this practice does not prove to be useful unless we are talking about sales calls. Today, I will be talking about how people need to focus on asking better questions that will allow their business to grow and prosper instead of sticking to old questions that may not be useful at all.
However, before I start talking about today’s topic, I would like to mention that I do not intend to talk about ethics in today’s discussion. When I talk about ‘black hats’ I do not refer to unethical practices such as hacking. I refer to the deliberate violation of the rules and regulations set by Google in order for a company to benefit from its content and increase its ranking when I talk about ‘black hats’.

Value

The value of the tactics that you use is of great importance. You need to ask yourself; are you using high value tactics or low value tactics?
Low value tactics are normally tactic that may get you a good amount of traffic, however, if these tactics are blocked by Google, which they are, the amount of traffic you get finishes completely. This is because when these tactics are implemented, they are done so only keeping SEO in mind.  High value tactics always have backup plans in case Google makes changes.

Risk

How much risk can you handle? This is a question you need to ask before implementing any strategy at all. If you claim to be a risk taker, make sure you stick to your claims if a strategy fails badly. You see, strategies can be good, however, nothing can be guaranteed.

Time Span

The time span really matters when it comes to these strategies. Are you doing this for the long run or for the short run? If you are promoting something for the short run, it is advisable for you to use low value tactics. However, doing this in the long run can be a mistake.

Right Time

Before launching your SEO campaign you need to make sure if its the right time for you to dive in. SEO keeps changing with time so watch-out if you are following the old strategies. Keep yourself updated with the latest releases of search engine algorithms.
I highly recommend using white hat SEO techniques. If you want to learn more about ethical SEO then feel free to read 50 Must Follow SEO Lessons
